Scott Zoppoth

Attorney Scott P. Zoppoth is the founder and principal of The Zoppoth Law Firm located in Louisville, Kentucky. Serving clients throughout the state of Kentucky and numerous other states, Mr. Zoppoth uses his more than 33 years of legal experience specializing in business and commercial litigation and arbitration matters to deliver the highest level of legal counsel possible to those who have legal needs related to any of the following practice areas:

After graduating magna cum laude from St. John Fisher College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and finance, Mr. Zoppoth attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1985. That same year, the State Bar of Texas admitted him to practice, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas admitted him in 1986.

Mr. Zoppoth then spent five (5) years working for prestigious, boutique litigation firms in Houston before moving to Louisville in 1991, where he served as a senior associate with a mid-size litigation firm before establishing his own private practice in 1996. He has continuously operated and managed his own law firm since 1996. Along with being licensed by the Kentucky Bar Association, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, as well as the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and 6th Circuits.

Mr. Zoppoth has extensive experience prosecuting and defending matters before the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and he has successfully handled cases in state and federal courts throughout the country.

Mr. Zoppoth has successfully tried in excess of one-hundred (100) trials and evidentiary hearings before judges, juries and arbitrators in numerous state courts, federal courts and Arbitration panels in Kentucky, Texas and numerous other states. Mr. Zoppoth was also an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel for ten (10) years.

Fully committed to both his law practice, family and his community, Mr. Zoppoth is active in a number of professional legal associations, including the Louisville Bar Association, where he has served on the advisory board of the Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service. He also served as a board member of the Louisville Metro YMCA and Safe Place Services and was the chairman of the parish council for his church for 12 years.
